Appreciating Progress.

This is a photo of me in 2018, a few months after I started writing Lost You.

Lost You was written in May 2018, I've been very open about this song and it's early steps.

I am a far more skilled musician now than I ever was back then.

Tonight I found an early version of Lost You on a flash drive. The final version very much so sounds like a finished version of the same song, it didn't have many changes as far as composition goes.

But I improved in both vocals, and production. The final version is just far more interesting to listen to.

To understand how far I've come I needed to look back. I finally did that tonight and I couldn't be happier that I did, because now I truly appreciate how far I've come.

Looking at the above photo is quite strange to me, because I've changed so much as a person since mid-late 2018, but I look almost the same. Since that photo I've hit my lowest points, and also my highest points. I have grown so much mentally, but at the same time, my current mental state is probably worse than in that photo.

In January I released 3 songs, only one under the Capitol8 name, and 2 of them were jokes, but still. I made 3 songs! That is such a huge step up from previously, when I'd start on a song but abandon it because it wasn't my next big track. I need to learn to just have fun making songs. Not every song needs to be my next single, and not every song needs to be shared.

If you're reading this, I appreciate you. You care enough about me and my work to actually check this website and then go to the "Updates" page, something few dare to do, so thank you for your dedication and care. I couldn't thank you more.

As a bonus for you, you can listen to the demo here, vocals and all.
