Level Design & Detailing

Originally, I designed this map as a 5v5 defuse map, Counter-Strike's standard game mode, but after a playtest session and some advice from a friend, I decided to pivot the gameplay to 2v2 Hostage Rescue mode. This map was designed by me and detailed by myself and a friend. 

Process

Headquarters was originally conceptualized as a 5v5 Defuse map. At the time, I hadn't had much experience mapping for CS:GO, and it was very congested. Due to this, the map actually lent itself well to 2v2 gameplay, and thus, the second bombsite was cut off of the map and it was made a 2v2 Hostage map.
